The internet is down so this message is being posted via a phone call from Carrie Cook, Christian Hibbs, and Bob Lacy.
The whole group was up at 4:00 am. At 5:00 am, we had breakfast and left for Yanacancha about 5:30 am. It was about a 2 ½ hour trip. For the most part, the road was good. The last 20 miles or so is what was built by Larry Johnson when he came. It was a typical winding, curving mountain road and the scenery was beautiful. The clinic was in a church that Larry started, but discovered it had been closed for two years now. The former pastor let us in. It had a dirt floor, four walls, a few benches, and six windows. There was a small table set up near the front door where the people told us their needs. They were told of Jesus’ love for them by Raul and Jerry Moore. There were 21 souls saved today.
From the evangelism area, they could see a medical doctor who came with us from Cajamarca. His name was Aldo and he was a real joy to know. He saw many sick babies, older people, and all ages in between. From there, folks could go see Paula for reading glasses and sunglasses. Then they could go see the dentist. Truett Love pulled teeth along with Danny. They pulled many teeth. I’m not sure how many. After that they would go to the pharmacy to see David Schultz for their medicine. We saw 111 people in the clinic today.
We left a little after 4:00 pm to go back to Cajamarca. We arrived a little after dark. We ate, then had a devotional and everyone was tired enough to sleep well. It was a long day in the lord.
